30/05/2008 - Time to get on with the inboard rib

The plans call for a clip to hold the vent line in place underneath the fuel cap.  Used an old dril to help form the clip which worked a treat.

Then it was a few hours of scratching my head as I needed to figure out where to place

bullet

Vent line bulkhead fitting

bullet

BNC connector for capacitance plates

bullet

Fuel vapour return line (I have not decided which FI I will put in so a return line put in now can always be blanked off if I don't need it; eg ECI needs one)

bullet

Optical sensor for fuel annunciator

This all has to fit and not cause a problem for the flop tueb to get hung up or be interfered with.  So I started following the plans for the BNC connector and vent line but what do you know I drilled the BNC connector hole to the size required for the vent line ...doh.  So I changed my plans :-)  I the picture below you can see the flop tube fitting furthest to the left, then comes the vapour return line for FI, then at the top the BNC connector and below that the optical fuel sensor, then comes the vent line fitting furthest to the right.  I fabricated an anti hangup guide like the plans stated but thats not fitted properly yet.

I carried out some basic movement tests of the flop tube and all looks ok as far as the fittings go.

Now some builders have not put the second hang up guide in place, but my flop tube looks like it could get caught behind the stiffener as shown below so I am going to put one in.  The second photo shows it.
